September Plan With Me

Fall is just around the corner

It’s the end of the Summer and we’re all getting ready for school, pumpkin spice and sweater weather. It’s not quite here but my September plan with me is!

For this month I once again took requests from my lovely girls, and unicorns came out on top. I added in some more dreamy (and grown-up) vibes by adding dream catchers to my theme as well.

I’m excited to intertwine these ideas and hopefully get a whimsical, dreamy effect. My first few spreads air on the side of cutesy but I have to build my confidence after the mermaid theme. Stay tuned for that flip through coming soon.

Planning

I once again started to plan this September plan with me by compiling a Pinterest board. I looked up some great unicorns and dream catchers to serve as inspiration for the month (check it out here). I looked around for some unicorn quotes too but there were all very “basic” in the pumpkin spice and UGGs way lol. Not quite what I wanted. I think I’m going to find some more on the dream theme for my future spreads.

Set Up

September Plan with me
I started the month with a Ryder calendar and habit tracker as always, highlighting the Mondays in pink to make them easy to find. I put a small dream catcher on the top to get a feel for it.

I used the ombre writing technique that I really liked last month although I ended up messing up the “S”. I  whited it out and re-did it but you can see there is a colour difference

My floral washi tape adds borders to my little metallic unicorn face with a flower hair piece. And I used the same writing style to add in goals and tasks for the month. For some reason I forgot to add in my mini calendar so I guess I’ll see if I miss it during the course of the month.

My chores page has become a staple for me. I really want to have a great clean house (I’m moving on Aug. 31st so want to come in with a plan!) and having this page is so helpful in keeping me on track! Especially if it’s pretty.

This dream catcher turned out much more natural than my first and I love it! I love the flowers as it ties into the first spread. It’s definitely going to keep bringing me back to this page!

My gratitude page has a little cartoon unicorn on it and it’s just so cute!

For my gratitude affirmation, I added in “Gratitude is Magic” to remind myself that remembering the things you’re grateful for in your life does wonders for making you happy.

Throughout this layout I was using a metallic purple marker for emphasis and I think it really adds some of that whimsical quality I wanted for this theme

My first star unicorn is Rarity from My Little Pony. She fits right in next to my daily boxes that have cloud edges and are in metallic silver marker.

Remember, unicorns aren’t the only magical things around. We all have a little magic in us. This quote will just re-affirm it for me throughout the week.

Thoughts

I can’t believe I forgot the mini calendar! But that’s the thing about a bullet journal, if you make a mistake you can always add it in somewhere. I can add it to the bottom of the Goals column as an example if I miss it that much.

I love my dream catcher on the chores page. It’s just so pretty. If you want to look at how I set up the page read this post.

This theme has me excited now that I’ve started to do it. My mermaids started strong but I overestimated my people face drawing ability which made it hard at some of the points in August. I think I’ll be more successful at drawing unicorns, both cartoon and “real” this month and I’m looking forward to giving it a good go.

I really like the metallic markers I was using as well. I’m planning on using them throughout the month as a common element, mostly in silver, purple and maybe blue.

My first day at my new house is September 1st! I used my bullet journal to help with some of my moving organization. If you’re interested in seeing what I did leave it in the comments below!
