Summer starts with June

For this June flip through I got nostalgic. When I was a kid I loved Pokemon and my girls love it now. So for this month, we spent a lot of time doodling all together and picking the cutest pokemon to put in our journals.

Oddish has always been one of my favourite pokemon and I loved this little quote reminding me that different isn’t bad.

Monthly Set-up

June Flip Through
This month I switched up my calendar for my monthly spread again. I put a mini calendar in the top corner then added colour coded dots to get a visual representation of the month and activities we had planned.

Under the mini calendar I added goal and task sections. On the opposite page I decided to add in the Ryder calendar as a more in-depth view of the month. I made sure that the dots from the mini calendar corresponded with the boxes around the date on the Ryder calendar. And as always my habit tracker is on the right side of that calendar.

The next spread for my monthly set up was my gratitude log. I also decided to try out a chores log for the first time to keep me on top of my house cleaning. Check out my post about it here

Weeklies

June Flip Through
For the first week of the month I was super excited about the series finale of Sense8 so I chose to draw some psychic pokemon for this layout

Evee and its evolution are up next!
Week 2 has some cute water pokemon

On week three I got a new white pen so I tried it out to write the days of the week over black for a chalkboard feel. I threw in an adorable cubone with a flower and a little sandshrew surrounded by the same blue flowers.

I still had so many pokemon I wanted to draw by the time that these last 2 spreads come around so I put a bunch in the corners. On this page I tried my hand at anime with a cartoon version of me. I was also hosting a party for my girls so I had a short checklist to make sure everything got done.

My last page has the pokemon in the middle for a little variation.

In closing

I had so much fun making these spreads this month. The theme was definitely great and the girls loved it! Having a theme that the kids could draw along with me was such a special treat.

Nothing too different happened this month as far as weeklies go but I would highly recommend picking a cartoon theme to spice up your journal and take you down memory lane.
