February Plan with Me

February is such a fun month for choosing to use a bullet journal theme. I’ve posted 2 previous February Plan with Me’s on this site and each has a different setup. When we think about February I think it’s only natural to think about love for these themes.

Not just because of Valentine’s Day but also because it’s right in the coldest part of the winter (at least here in Ontario). So it’s nice to retreat into the warmth of the heart💕.

Last year my February plan with me has Disney Princesses as the theme. It was ADORABLE. Check it out here. And the year before that, I just did pink. This year I’m going a bit more traditional but I think it’s turned out so pretty so far.

Even though it has a traditional theme, I have tried out two things that are very different from my usual monthly setups. So keep reading to see what I’m doing this month!

In order to see all my spreads make sure to follow me on Instagram where I’ll be posting my weeklies as I make them.

February Monthly Set Up

Yes, that’s right I went there.

For February I did hearts. And I might add some flowers too…

But I did decide to make them geometric in order to try to keep the theme from being too tacky. 😅

In particular I really like my monthly set up.

My February monthly set up. Ryder calendar, tasks and goals all included.

This page is usually very simple for me with a Ryder Calendar on the left and a mini traditional calendar on the right along with space to write in tasks and goals. See my January Plan with Me for reference.

But this month I wanted to do it a bit differently.

I broke the month into 4 weeks and adapted my Ryder Calendar into weekly sections that I put across the bottom of the page.

My mini calendar is the same size as usual but it is the focus of the page since it’s right in the middle. I chose to have the “February” stand out among the fuchsia by making it a very pigmented black using my Tombow Fuedenuske brush pen.

I won’t say my calligraphy is perfect, or even good, but I’m working on it. The only way to get better is practice right?

There are still “goals” and “tasks” sections on this page like always but I have them flanking the mini calendar. I also chose to do them in my gold metallic gel pen to add a little bit more character.

A cool metallic gel pen is so much fun to add to spreads.

Additional Spreads

I agonized over other spreads or trackers I wanted to include this month. But over the last while I’ve gotten so much help from my family with chores that I no longer need a chore tracker 🤩 and I don’t have any specific habits I’m trying to enforce.

Since I don’t like to use space just for the heck of it, I’m keeping it simple this month. It also means that I can stay focused on only the things that truly make a difference in my life.

I couldn't help but add heart to my February bullet journal layouts!

My gratitude log is here along with a single planning page. There is a lot that I want to get done on the blog this month so keeping my priorities straight and at the forefront is key.

Again, the decoration is minimal on these spreads. Just curvy writing and a geometric heart with some gold detail. A change in font and colour on the “Plan” gives a little oomph.

Mixing and matching fonts add personality to my February bullet journal spreads.

It doesn’t take a lot to add personality to your spreads. Something as simple as mixing fonts is usually enough. Check out my fonts Pinterest Board for some inspiration and make sure to follow it!

My first weekly spread

Ok, so besides my change in format for my monthly set up I did decide to try something new out with my first weekly in this February Plan with Me.

Last week I wrote a couple of posts about the Alastair Method so I wanted to try it out on the weekly level!

Alastair rolling weekly example in my bullet journal.

Again this spread is pretty minimalist with my forecast and workout schedule at the top and my daily boxed in the middle. But at the bottom of my spread, I added in a rolling weekly task list.

Bullet Journal weekly spread.

As a quick overview I’m going to add tasks to the list and mark down when I start and/or finish them.

My goal with this is to see if I can figure out how I’m currently breaking up weekly projects and how long it’s taking me to finish them. As an example, am I starting to write a post on Monday but not finishing it till Thursday? Did I work on it every day or only 2 times?

Knowing information like this will help me when I’m tweaking my schedule. I’ll have a better idea of what I’m actually doing rather than just knowing my current schedule could be better. Ya know?
