New Years is just around the corner! If you were able to take a look at my 2019 Bullet Journal Set
Coming into this month I wanted to keep the things that had been working for me. That meant I kept the certain trackers and layouts I had been using previously. But I also wanted to be as efficient with my space as possible. There are about 50
I typically only use covers when I have a theme I really. That or if my previous spread ended using only one page. This is an example of the latter. I’m going for a colourful minimalist vibe with my journal so far this year.
My cover just says “Happy New Year” and then “January”. I added a simple drop shadow and a silver highlight to the letters to make them stand out a bit more. Then, keeping with the theme, I drew a thin column down the left side of the page. I filled it in as I had been doing with the letters in my 2019 Set Up.
Monthly Set Up
On the next
My Ryder calendar is on the right with my small habit tracker. I’ve really liked my switch to using icons on top of my habit tracker. They take up so much less room and are easy to read. I kept that up this month for my tracker. The only decoration here is a bar like on the last page and a small mandala on the top left page corner.
Gratitude and chores
Next are my monthly staples. I have my gratitude log and my chores spread. I put all my titles on these coloured bars through out this set up and then added silver diamonds on either side of the words to add a bit of fun.
But as I said, I wanted to make sure that this set up was pretty yet simple. I can’t say enough that I loved using my Tombows in this spread. Particularly the blending pen, which I used to blend the colours and create the effect in the bars.
These metallics have such a beautiful shine!
Goals
I added a monthly blog page and a monthly plan overview with the same title format. One of the focuses that I had coming into the year was to have more goal spreads. I wanted this in order to make sure that I was continuously working towards my 2019 goals.
Having a place to write down what I need to accomplish for the month was essential for me. To that end, I added that in next to my business plan. This page will list where I want to be by the end of the month and how I’m going to do it. If you’d like to learn more about
These are obviously my monthly overview pages for my work. If you want to use your bullet journal to keep your work tasks organized definitely read through this post on just that.
First Week of January Spread
Can I just say, I LOVE this weekly spread! I didn’t deviate from my theme at all. This month I kept it super simple with an 8 box layout. I have been gravitating towards box layouts more and more frequently. I think that they are the perfect size for my days and are super easy to set up.
The top of each box is coloured in with my Tombows and blending pen. I added the same gold and silver accents that you’ve seen
There were two changes I did make from my previous weekly spreads here though. I don’t usually write a lot in on the weekends so I grouped Saturday and Sunday together in one box. Monday is December 31st so I already accounted for it in my old journal. I used what would have been the Monday box as a place for a quote to start off the year.
So I have
I like to know what I’m going to be cooking so I can write that in here. I’m also going to use it for the odd random note or errand I need to put somewhere. I thought that this would be a good option since over December I found that I wasn’t using my bi-weekly spread as often. I thought that I could cut it out, save the two pages and use these boxes instead.
My new Peter Pauper journal has about 50 pages less than my Leuchttrum so saving pages where I can is probably a good idea.
I’m so excited to see what 2019 has in store so let’s make that quote on my weekly spread true, the best is yet to come.
